Welcome to Wharfedale

Wharfedale is one of the most visited of the Yorkshire Dales, its proximity to Bradford and Leeds making it the ideal escape for their inhabitants. The area that runs upriver from Addingham is known as upper Wharfedale, and it is this section that lies within the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The dale is a typical glacial "U" shape with many limestone outcrops. There are many splendid towns and villages to visit in Upper Wharfedale including Grassington, Threshfeild, Conistone, Kilnsey, Kettlewell, Starbotton, Buckden, and Cray.

Please visit our accommodation pages for hotels, cottages, bed and breakfast available in this and other areas of the Yorkshire Dales.

The pilot was tense - he could see nothing but a screen of white light in front of him.
