Despite what many may think you don't always need a car to get around the Yorkshire Dales. Did you know that the dales have a well-served public transportation system in the National Park! Frequent bus, rail and coach services run from the nearby cities and towns. There are many cycle trails and designated scenic routes running throughout the National Park connecting the towns and villages.

    The Travel Dales web site is designed to provide you with information to enable visitors and local people to enjoy the National Park while protecting its special qualities by lowering the impact of the use of motorised transport and encouraging the use of cycling and walking to move around the dales.

    This is the official site of The Yorkshire Dales Public Transport Users Group, providing details of bus and train services in the Yorkshire Dales plus numerous links to sites of interest to visitors.
  • Dales and District
    Procters Coaches operate a public transport service as Dales and District. Many residents of North Yorkshire will be familiar with our service buses, small and large, travelling the roads and towns of North Yorkshire.
