Middle Cottage

Situated in Wensleydale, nestling on the hillside between the River Cover and the River Ure just 2 miles from the busy little market town of Leyburn is Middleham with its magnificent castle ruins towering over clusters of old grey stone cottages, fine old Georgian and Victorian houses and its two cobbled market squares.

Middle Cottage is situated in a quiet location just off the market square. There is parking close by in the square and vehicular access to the front door for loading and unloading. An extremely tastefully refurbished and well equipped traditional stone built 18th Century cottage; which can comfortably accommodate a maximum of 5 people.

Middleham is noted for three outstanding features - its connection with King Richard the Third, its magnificent Castle (King Richards childhood home) with the largest keep in the north of England and in more modern times its horse-racing associations.

The town is home to four pubs and several tea shops and restaurants within walking distance of Middle Cottage. There is a very good general store and off licence, where you can buy most of the things you will need. Leyburn is a bustling market town, it has a bank with a cash dispenser, a good selection of shops including an outdoor clothing shop, supermarket and butchers. Logs and kindling can also be purchased in Leyburn.

The cottage has been tastefully modernised and is well equipped, yet retains much charm and character. There is a fully fitted kitchen, a sitting room with dining area with solid oak furniture and comfortable settees. There are 3 bedrooms and a house bathroom with a separate shower cubicle. The cottage is warm and cosy, fully heated by modern electric storage heaters, which are individually thermostatically controlled and give a boost during the afternoon to ensure you will be warm throughout the day, there is a traditional multi fuel stove in the sitting room. The cottage is fully double glazed. Smoke alarms are wired in to the electrical circuits and there is a telephone available for emergency and incoming calls only.

There is also a newly refurbished terraced garden has a Barbeque and garden furniture.

The English Tourist Board has awarded the cottage a four-star rating, and the Cottage sleeps a maximum of five.
