Richmond in Swaledale

Yorkshire Dales National Park, Yorkshire, England.

Richmond is the main market town of Swaledale, its cobbled market place and narrow streets surrounding ancient Richmond Castle and the 12th century church of the holy trinity.

Richmond has no less than three museums, the Georgian Theatre Royal built in 1788, and Britain's most complete Georgian playhouse, The Richmondshire Museum a former joiner's workshop depicting the life of Swaledale inhabitants and industry and the Regimental Museum of the Green Howards in the former Holy Trinity Church.
