Giggleswick

This quite village lies on the west bank of the river ribble, across from the busy tourist town of Settle, & within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Yorkshire, England.

Here you can enjoy the spectacular dales scenery with nearby Giggleswick Scar and the high fells of Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent to the north. Giggleswick has a famous school founded in 1512, its copper dome a landmark that can be seen from the nearby hillside. Former pupils include Richard Whitley and Russell Hartley

Look out for the Ebbing and Flowing Well at the foot of Buck How Brow. The water is reputed to ebb and flow several times a day. Also worth a visit is the 15th century church of StAlkelda.
